Yes, the Kardashians have now launched their own make up range – it was only a matter of time eh? I have to say I was skeptical when I first heard it, yet another celebrity launch *yawn* but I have to say once I heard about the Kardazzle Palettes I was eager to get a closer look.
As part of the range, each of the three sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe has designed her own palette which allows us to recreate their individual looks. Each palette contains eight eye shadows, a blusher, a bronzer and a highlighter and retails at €16.95.
For the past week, I’ve been trying out Kourtney’s Kardazzle and at first, I was surprised at the size of the palette which is not much bigger than a credit card but it’s neatness allows it to be carried easily in a small handbag for nights out or day long event such as weddings where top ups are always needed.
The appearance of the palette left me a little disappointed – the plastic printed casing certainly doesn’t have a luxury feel to it such as the Urban Decay Naked Palette but it is about half the price I suppose! So what does it look like inside then?
The top row of eyeshadows are matt and the first two quite pale so would be suitable for highlighting the lid and brow bone. While the two colours on the top right give a much better colour pay off and can be used all over the lid for a neutral, everyday look.
The bottom row of shadows are full of sparkle and really rich colours which can be combined to give a create a more smokey, evening look . They are easy to work with and I didn’t find much fall out from them. The two shades on the right could also be used as highlighters.
The blush, highlighter & bronzer are all contained in a pull out tray underneath the shadows. As you can see from the swatches, the blush is a rosy pink shade which is complimented by the creamy highlighter, this looks a lot whiter in the palette than it does when applied – both items need to be blended well. The bronzer however, is a rather muddy brown and I would suggest a light hand when using this to avoid a dirty face!
Overall, this palette is very good value for money and I will certainly continue to use it for daytime looks.
Other items from the current range include Kim’s Au Natural Lip Set which looks interesting, a Mascara Quartet and the Shebang Eye Transformation Kit which range from €17.95 to €26.95 and can be purchased from Cloud10 Beauty right now!
* This item was kindly received as a PR samplePopped out today to pick up a nice, warming soup and as I joined the queue of hungry lunchers at the local butcher’s deli counter, I couldn’t help but notice that almost everyone was choosing meat of some sort in their sandwich/wrap/roll/salad. Personally, I couldn’t give a monkey’s uncle what anyone eats on Ash Wednesday or any other day of the year but it got me thinking about how in some ways, we have certainly changed as a society over the past decade or two.
When I was a child, nobody would have even dreamed of eating meat on the first day of Lent but today, nobody seemed to give it a second thought!
However, when it comes to other issues such as the legalisation of abortion in certain cases which would have saved the lives of women such as Savita Halappanavar, Ireland is still a society of old.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I changed my lifestyle in 2012 by simply deciding to get off my arse!!
I’d tried running previously but the bug never really bit me so I didn’t lasted very long at it.
Last March, Action Breast Cancer organised a 10k Pink Ribbon Walk in my town, most people as the name suggests, were walking but three of my friends, all avid runners signed up to run it so I thought, what the hell I’ll give it a whirl and join them. When I say join them, I decided to take it at my own pace and walk as needed – my goal was just to complete it.
I did a few short walk-run sessions coming up to the date but had never ran further than 5km when I stood at the start line. I decided to track my progress using the Nike+ app which incidentally, I now rarely run without as I find it great for training for longer distances and speed so I put on my headphones with my playlist blasting and set off with about 100 or so other runners – the walkers would start a few minutes later.
I kept up with my friends for the first 1km or so but then as I approached the first major hill, I felt my legs start to fail me and I realised I needed to adjust my pace to suit my fitness level (or lack there of!) so I slowed down and with a few short walking intervals to catch my breath, managed to finish the 10k in just under an hour.
To say I was chuffed was an understatement – I really felt as if I’d achieved something and have been running regularly ever since. So if anyone is thinking of running as a New Year’s resolution, I say go for it – if I can, anyone can!
Yes, I really am the worse blogger ever and yes, it has been over a year since my last post but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things in 2013.
2012 was an extremely busy year for me – we moved into our new house which is far from complete but such a dream come through and I decided that it was the year I would get fit and healthy so I look forward to sharing some of my adventures very soon.
Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas in the meantime!

Thankfully this polish is quick drying as I think you definitely need three coats to build up the effect. However, I do think it would benefit from a base coat of something similar to Dior Vernis Haute Coleur Extreme Wear Nail Lacquer in Or Divin which Kirstie reviewed today over on Beaut.ie.
I was very excited when the lovely Beaut.ie ladies announced that Aisling’s second book, Gorgeous To Go would be released in October however, I got EXTREMELY excited when the date of the launch was given as this Saturday, 8th October – I hitting the big smoke that morning along with my buddy J for a weekend of shopping, socialising and a small bit education (more on that at a later date).

Beaut.ie has been one of my favourite beauty blogs for a number of years now – in fact, the ladies recently celebrated the blogs 5th birthday. As you may guess from previous posts, I love to support Irish and this is one “product” not to be missed. The blog is jam packed with honest product reviews, previews and trends.
The first book, The Beaut.ie Guide to Gorgeous is firmly fixed to my beside table so needless to say, I cannot wait to get my paws on the latest book by Beaut.ie blogging sister, Aisling.
You too can attend the event at 2pm in Brown Thomas by emailing info@beaut.ie – hope to see you all there 🙂
